Children's Care
At Sutton Cross we pride ourselves on the care and concern that we show for our younger patients.
It is vital that kids have a good experience at the dentist so that their oral health will be a priority to them for years to come. We recommend that they first visit us when they are around 2 and a half years old. There milk teeth should all have come through and there are unlikely to be any problems - the perfect first visit to the dentist! We spend extra time with children to make sure that they are comfortable and understand exactly what we are doing.

Sealants are a safe and painless way of protecting your children's teeth from decay. A sealant is a protective plastic coating, which is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay. They are only applied to the back teeth that have 'fissures' or grooves on their biting surfaces.
The process is very straightforward and generally only takes a few minutes per tooth. It is pain free and the sealant should last for several years.
